What is The Choicer Voicer?
Choicer Voicer turns vocal impressions into a party game: hear a short sample, try to recreate its delivery, and let the show react. A ridiculous attempt can be as memorable as an accurate one. You do not need a trained character voice to understand the challenge.
The creator, YeahMaybe, traces the idea to a December 2023 Vinny Vinesauce stream and The Choicest Voice, a Mario Party minigame. What began as a small fan project grew around customizable audio and game-show scenery.
How to play Choicer Voicer
- Start the player. Click Play above and let the engine finish loading. Use the standalone player or fullscreen if you need more room.
- Check your sound. Listen at a comfortable volume and use headphones so the reference clip does not feed back into your microphone.
- Choose the available content. For a first round, choose Play → Solo → Standard Gameshow → The Choicer Voicer Tutorial Pack. This build includes five tutorial clips.
- Listen, then perform. Notice the start, pauses, emphasis, and ending. Allow microphone access when recording is requested.
- Try another take. Change one thing at a time, such as timing or energy, so you can hear which adjustment helps.
Voice Packs and Dub Packs
A Voice Pack supplies the reference audio for your impressions. To create one for the official desktop game, start with our Voice Pack setup guide: it covers the folder layout, supported audio, and metadata, with links to the developer’s format documentation.
Dub Packs add a scene video and timing information. Read the Dub Pack setup instructions for video requirements and a short first test. These are desktop workflows; browser import support can differ.
Browser game or official download?
Choose based on what you want to do today. This page hosts browser build 0.5.1; it is not the developer’s download or an automatic mirror of newer releases.
| Your goal | Where to start |
|---|---|
| Try a first impression | Use the browser tutorial above: five included clips, mouse navigation, and microphone recording. |
| Install the current desktop release | The official desktop release supports Windows and Linux. Check the desktop compatibility guidance before choosing it. |
| Build a custom pack | Follow our Voice Pack and Dub Pack setup guide for the desktop folder workflow. |
| Fix a silent recording | Use the microphone troubleshooting guide to separate permission, device, and game problems. |
“Play online” here means running the game in a browser. It does not mean this page provides multiplayer rooms. The developer lists local multiplayer and Twitch variants separately from online multiplayer.
Tips for a better impression
Start with rhythm before attempting an accent. A well-placed pause or a sharply emphasized word gives the line its shape. Next, match the change in pitch across the sentence. Finally, add the character’s mood: impatience, surprise, confidence, or exhaustion.
Keep your distance from the microphone consistent. Shouting into it can distort the recording, while moving away halfway through a sentence makes the ending disappear. For a first round, pick a line you can remember after one listen and practice at a natural, comfortable volume.
If you are passing the microphone between friends, let each person hear the same reference first. A short rotation keeps everyone involved and makes the different interpretations easy to compare.
Microphone and loading help
- No microphone recording?Check the site’s microphone permission and your operating system’s input selection. Close other apps using the mic, then reopen the player.
- Cannot hear the sample?Click inside the game to enable browser audio. Check the tab volume, headphones, and output device.
- Blank or stalled player?Wait for the loading bar, keep the tab active, and try a current browser with WebGL 2 enabled. A stable connection matters for the first download.
- Small controls?Use Fullscreen or Open player. A desktop display is recommended; phone support is not guaranteed.

The official desktop release has a reported microphone issue on some audio setups. The creator recommends checking the free microphone test demo before purchasing. Our desktop microphone guidance links to that notice.
