Choicer Voicer microphone not working?

If Choicer Voicer cannot record your voice, first find out whether the failure is in microphone permission, your input device, or the game. Start with a short test and change one setting at a time.

1. Allow the correct website to use the microphone

For this browser player, microphone permission belongs to getyoked.net. Granting another gaming site access will not grant this one access. Open the game, begin a recording, and respond to the browser’s permission request. A request left unanswered can leave the game waiting.

In Chrome, open Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → Microphone. Check the selected microphone and whether this site is blocked. Change the permission if necessary, then reload the player. Also check that your operating system allows Chrome to access the microphone. Google provides the current steps in its microphone permission instructions.

Browser recording needs a secure context and explicit permission. Open the HTTPS game page rather than a downloaded HTML file. If an embedded player never prompts, try Open player in its own tab. See MDN’s browser microphone requirements.

2. Separate device trouble from game trouble

  1. Check the physical mute switch. Headsets may have a mute button on the cable or ear cup. Speak while watching your system’s input level meter.
  2. Make a short recording outside the game. Use your normal recorder app, listen back, then close it. If that recording is silent too, investigate the input device before restarting the game repeatedly.
  3. Return to the tutorial. Choose Play → Solo → Standard Gameshow → The Choicer Voicer Tutorial Pack. A known included clip removes a custom pack from the diagnosis.
  4. Repeat the same line. Keep the device and distance unchanged. Compare the reference and your recorded playback before judging the score.

3. Match the next step to the symptom

A practical troubleshooting sequence
What happensWhat to try next
No permission promptCheck blocked site permissions and open the standalone player. A missing prompt alone does not prove the mic is broken.
Reference sound is missingClick inside the game and check output volume. Hearing the reference and recording your voice use different audio paths.
System recording is silentSelect the intended input and inspect its mute and input-level settings.
System recording works; game does notReopen the game after closing other audio apps. Test the included tutorial before custom content.
Playback works; score is lowPractice the reference’s pauses and delivery. A low score on its own is not evidence of microphone failure.

What about the desktop microphone bug?

The creator reports an unresolved recording issue on some audio setups and describes surround sound as a possible connection, not a confirmed cause for every failure. Try the official free microphone test demo before purchasing. Read the developer’s compatibility notice; no workaround should be treated as a universal fix.

What to record if you still need help

Note your browser and operating system, microphone model, whether the permission prompt appeared, whether a separate recorder worked, and which tutorial step failed. Describe silence, missing playback, or a stalled screen separately. That is more useful for reproducing an issue than a score alone.

Our browser check reached recording, playback, and scoring with synthetic audio. It did not validate every microphone or physical audio setup.
